This Is Important, You Should Watch It of the Day: Rare and disturbing footage of everyday life inside the besieged Syrians city of Homs, courtesy of an intrepid French photojournalist, identified only as “Mani” by Britain’s Channel 4.
This shocking video aired Wednesday alongside an interview with Mani, which can be seen here.
“While the world has become used to grainy shaky and gruesome footage and images from Homs fed through whatever Internet connection is available,” said Channel 4’s Jonathan Miller, “Mani’s crystal clear and incredible footage gives perhaps the clearest and most frightening account of what Homs has been like for the past three weeks.”
Earlier this week, an attack on a makeshift media center in Homs claimed the lives of photojournalist Rémi Ochlik and war correspondent Marie Colvin. Thousands of people are believed to have died since the start of the uprising, with no end in sight.
