Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
What can i say about Soulfly? I used to love them in high school so much. Them and Sepultura. Later on i got into the Cavalera Conspiracy and eventually just stop listneing to Max Calavera’s stuff altogether. Thankfully there is a Genius option on my iTunes and it led me to this song. I love just relaxing and listening to this song. It helps me out so much. I love this Brazilian influence in their songs. Its amazing to me. I showed this song to my roommate Mauro and he actually loved it. He was amazed by it. Not bad for Brazilian metal. There are no hard electric guitars just lots of latin percussion and trippy instruments. Give this song a chance. I promise there is no metal in this song. Enjoy.
Soulfly II by Soulfly
This song is soooo great. I posted this up two years ago and not one single note. This song deserves some love.
Testin My Gangsta by Three 6 Mafia
This is the song that blew out my subwoofer :-\
Reblogging myself because I can. This song gets me in one of the most thuggish moods ever.
Lately i have been to this album so much lately and especially this song. I just love the way it sounds. I love the different musical influences it has and the variation in vocals. I love bands that just sound different from everything else and not for the sake of being different but pushing the boundaries of certain music genres. It is hard to find any info on this band because i believe they are still unsigned but i was fortunate to download their only album which seems to be available for free on certain sites. I am psyched for when they do get signed and record an album even more so now that Kurt Travis (ex-Dance Gavin Dance) has taken the role of vocals. Not to say the current vocals on this album are horrible. I seriously recommend you take a listen to this song and go listen to the entire album. You most certainly will not be disappointed. Enjoy
Your Ex Marked My Spot by A Lot Like Birds
Reblogging myself because I really love this song and band. I also just found out they have a new album out. I am a horrible fan.

It’s girls like you that make me
think I’m better off home on a Saturday night with all my doors locked up tight.
I won’t be thinking about you, baby.
Forget everything you think you know about me.

I have to admit this band is super cheesy and has gotten cheesier over the years. Their music videos attack Christianity more and more and it is ridiculous. I think though that is why I like them. Their music videos off their album In Sorte Diaboli are so ridiculously interesting to watch. And to be quite honest I love the symphonic elements and the clean singing in their songs. I have to give them props for being creative like that. How many bands do you know have an organ player? Not that many. At least as far as I know. From this album I have to say this is my favorite song. Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse is great also and is the song that got me into them back in the day so I suggest checking out that song. They are both great. Thinking about it they both are tied for best song off the album. Just the energy that the band gives off in both songs get me super pumped up. Definitely check out those songs. May not be your style and usually isn’t mine but they are pretty great musically. Enjoy.
Vredesbyrd by Dimmu Borgir (Demon Burger)
I have had this song on repeat the last few days. I never paid much attention to this band at first because I honestly thought they sucked but the topics of their songs intrigue me. Not to mention the cover to their album Sinister Slaughter. I think its the intro to this song is what gets me hooked and the chorus. The rest of the song is just weird just like their other songs. I am still really confused about all their songs. Whatevs. Enjoy.
Vampire of Dusseldorf by Macabre
This is one of the songs that seriously corrupted me in my elementary years. It was bad enough I got my hands on DMX’s Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood album but it became worse when I got this album. Back then this song had the record for the number of times the word “nigga” was said. Do you know how much that can influence a little boy’s vocabulary? Anything that has Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in it is automatically going to be a solid, thug song. Let us not forget their collaboration with Biggie in the song Notorious Thugs. That song is just so gangsta! This is not any different. Put this on your phone or iPod and just bump it. You’ll feel so much more thug and feel like you can go hard. I know I do. Enjoy.
Till We Dead and Gone by Master P feat. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Nine millimeter, heater, street sweeper, and sawed off shit!
Who seriously does not love this band? All I want to do when I listen to this is drink, fight dance, and party in that order. I just love the southern rock feel to all their songs. I remember when I first saw them I was blown the away. The show was intense and crazy and I had never experienced anything like it before. It must have been almost 10 years ago when I first saw them and I seriously haven’t seen them sine then which is kind of sad. I have kept on making excuses to not go. I already know I will not be disappointed so I do not know why I just do not go. I also feel bad for not owning any of their DVDs. I just decided I am a bad fan but I’ll fix that. For now I am just going to listen to Hot Damn! in its entirety to get a second wind on this studying. Party with me and pick up this album and jam it until your speakers are blown. It will be a great experience. Enjoy.
Romeo a Go-Go by Every Time I Die
This song should help me with my studying.
Xenochrist by The Faceless
My freshmen leading to my sophomore year in high school spawned a lot of hate inside me. A bad breakup did the trick, actually.. I was 14, what did I really know about love?Nonetheless, I needed to find something i could relate to. The current bands I was listening to just were not doing it for me. I did not want to sit and mope around. I was angry at the break up and everything. So I discovered this band and this song. And it pretty much hit the spot on everything I felt and I wanted to say, not to mention it starts off with an awesome quote from the movie “The Boondock Saints”. This band definitely was a gateway to a lot of incredible things for me musically and of course my views on life. Forget all the things that affect you negatively, just push forward and look ahead. The best is yet to come. I will be forever thankful to this band and album (This Is Love, This is Murderous).
Revenge I Seek by Bleeding Through
I am reblogging myself and I don’t care. I love this band, song, and album. I don’t see a point of reuploading this song since I already posted it before.
There are certain bands out there that I think I can never get tired of or feel like they will stop coming up with great material. This band being one of them. Every album, every song gives me the same feeling. The urge to start brutally punching people in the face. I will not ever do it, but it does get the blood flowing as if I was going to start a rampage. This song is definitely one of those. When I am walking at school to my next class and this song plays i just get the sudden urge to go insane and possibly mosh with everyone i walk by in the courtyard. I was kind of bummed out to find that Between the Buried and Me didn’t play tribute to them in their The Anatomy of because I feel that a lot of their style comes from this band. There are so many bands that have the same style breakdowns and the same trashy sounds. These guys were/are pioneers of the metal scene. They have been together for over 20 years and seriously show no signs of slowing down. Every album seems to be pure gold. I just hope I get to catch a glimpse of them once. Soon. Very Soon. Enjoy.
New Millennium Cyanide Christ by Meshuggah
I was very fortunate to have an upperclassmen in high school who showed me excellent music. When i was a junior in high school my older “brother” Erik showed me a leaked copy of the CD Undoing Ruin. Instantly I fell in love because it was just intense, in your face, and the riffs and solos were just saw raw. This specific song gets me the most though. It isn’t hard nor does it have a crazy solo. It’s just a simple duet with acoustic guitars. It is such a sweet serenade that this band is famous for on every album. In their previous albums they always have an instrumental with an acoustic guitar and it always sounds so pretty. it is so basic but I think thats the beauty of it. Concentrating more on making something sound sweet using the least amount of notes possible instead of just going crazy on a guitar. When i need to lay down and think I play this song or “Part II” by them. It always does the trick to me even six years later. If you are feeling bummed then just listen to this song. It’s only a minute and a half but it really good. trust me. Enjoy.
Pathos by Darkest Hour
When I first saw this band live it was at a tiny venue in my hometown and only maybe 20 people were watching them play. they were the opening act. The first band to play on the bill, I don’t remember who else was on the bill other than Folly. I must have been one out of two people who knew who they were which is kind of unfortunate for them. They did play an awesome set that I will never forget. The harmonies were so tight. They were on top of their game that whole night. Talked to Dean the guitarist and we had a great conversation. A few months later they actually released their debut album and although it was different from their demo days, different singer, it remains one of my favorite albums of all time. I jammed it on my iPod like there was no tomorrow. So many classic songs on that album. It definitely set the standard on guitar during that time and I think set it until Tosin Abasi started up Animals as Leaders. I would say Reflux but Tosin Abasi was the only shred master in that band while these guy have two. So many memories with this album. Ex-girlfriends, crazy nights, bets, parties and so on and so forth. I’ll never let go of this album and if you are into crazy, technical guitar riffs then you won’t either. This song specifically is a great example of that. I feel like playing this song will make your fingers bleed so much from all the shredding you have to do. If not this song then “Crossing the Rubicon” will definitely do the trick. Do yourself and listen to this song. It is how they end the album and I cannot think of a better song. Enjoy.
Vela, Together We Await The Storm by The Human Abstract
Lately I have been all about Northstar. I listened to them in high school for a while but for some reason stopped. Ever since they magically started playing on my iTunes on shuffle I have fallen in love again. I think on every social network I have I have written about my love for Northstar lately because they are just simply great. Even back in the day Taking Back Sunday said they were the best band ever and at that time that seriously says a lot because I felt that no one pioneered music as much as Taking Back Sunday had. I am in love with Nick Torres’s voice and his style is so catchy. He sings so flawlessly and you know he is not even trying. That is just how he naturally sings. This song is off their last album and they also have a music video for it. It is so catchy. The chorus, the bridge, the verses, everything. I can guarantee you that if you have no heard of this band at all and you listen to a few songs by them, you will definitely fall in love with them. Message me and I will recommend you some songs and i promise you you will be a big fan of them. It is shame they broke up but at least Nick Torres has started another band called Cassino which is great band as well. Do yourself a favor and just press play. Enjoy.

My jam right now. So many great memories this past few years with good friends, good alcohol, a campfire, and an acoustic guitar.
